National Health and Physical Education Day
It’s an easy trap to fall into where talk of sport focuses solely on premier leagues and world records, but Health and Physical Education Day reminds us about the importance of sport across all calibers and the benefits that come from learning about how to lead healthier and happier lives.
That’s why at the Confident Girls Foundation we centre education throughout our programs and we talk about what happens off the court just as much as on.
In Australia we’re lucky to live in a country that champions sport, not just as a competitive practice but as a way to better physical health, mental wellbeing and one’s sense of community. We’re lucky to have a national curriculum that prioritises a holisitic understanding of education and gives the next generation a better chance of leading healthy lives!
So for National Health and Physical Education Day this year, let’s remember all the important ways that sport can benefit the lives of everyone.
