Lahni Keeps Kicking Goals

We think every positon on the court is important, which is why you don’t need to be a shooter in order to participate in Give for a Goal!

This is Lahni, she’s 16 and plays for Souths Leagues Club in Newcastle, a graded team filled with rep and ex-rep players. Every week, during season, she hits the courts on a Saturday and gives netball her all, “I love netball as it’s something I’ve grown up with. I love meeting new people and getting better at my game.”

Lahni first heard about Give for a Goal through a few friends who’d made their own fundraising pages on Raise-ly and she decided to jump on-board. She set targets for each quarter and then during games the number of intercepts she grabbed were counted.

“I think Give for a Goal is a great initiative to create a supportive environment for all girls. Growing up in netball has taught me so many valuable lessons, that I hope other girls gain the opportunity to have.”

Lahni used social media to spread the word. Friends and family shared posts and got more and more people excited by her month’s progress. An amazing example of what a team is all about, lending a hand to get your goals done!

This year Lahni has decided to play soccer but hasn’t given up on her desire to help out Australia’s vulnerable girls, “I’m considering doing a similar idea where I’m sponsored per goal or by what my team scores.”

Your dedication to supporting others is fantastic to see Lahni, we look forward to hearing more!
